Growing up I was always athletic and had that natural competitive drive within me from the very beginning. Having grown up around sports, I wanted to be involved in as much as possible. When I was 8, I started swimming in a summer league and that carried on until I was 12. From that point volleyball, basketball, track and taking dance classes became my focus throughout middle school. Once high school hit, I wanted to change direction and solely focus on dance. I tried out for the team and made Varsity all 4 years. Upon graduating I had lost all motivation to stay with it and quit cold turkey. This is one of those “life decisions” I wished I could go back on and re-evaluate.
During my college career, I ended up switching my degree from Nursing to Nutrition. I knew I wanted to stay within the health realm and Nutrition is where I fell in love. I became so fascinated with it and I felt like it was something I could relate to and I had gained quite a bit of weight from high school to college. I graduated in 2013 from the University of Northern Colorado with my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Nutrition but never did anything with it due to one simple comment from someone who asked “how do you expect to coach someone to be healthy when you look the way you do” referencing my weight. That was the lowest I had ever felt and let my doubts control my mind rather than my passion. Fast forward 7 years, I hit my breaking point and was fed up with the way I looked on the outside, but more importantly how I was feeling from the inside. In June of 2020, at my heaviest weight, I decided it was time to take my life back and expand my education through ISSA and become a Certified Personal Trainer. That decision has led me down a path that I will never look back on and question.
Since that moment, I have completely transformed my body and have made health & fitness my biggest priority. I understand, firsthand, what it is like to go through the peaks and valleys of completely changing your lifestyle. Through the vision and belief of one of my best friend’s/brother/mentor and his wife, I chose to step outside of my comfort zone and level up within my journey and now compete with the WBFF (World Beauty Fitness & Fashion) in the “Wellness” category and am shooting for my pro athlete status.
I love this life that I have recreated for myself. I will be your biggest cheerleader and celebrate all of the achievements you will come across throughout your own process. You have already won once you make the decision and commit. This isn’t a job for me, this is my passion and knowing my evolution is continuous and will never stop is what drives me. I push myself hard every single day so I can show up for my clients at my best.
I train based on the experiences I have been through, starting slow and listening to your needs, as well as dialing in on what you are looking for from a trainer, what you have done in the past and what your goals are moving forward. I love working with the general population, especially those who deal with doubt and the feeling that they can’t do it. Like I said, I have had my own personal journey and have gone through the roller coaster of ups and downs that this industry brings. Yes, it gets hard, but the reward at the end is so worth it. The interal feeling that leads to the outside confidence, the mental strength that you gain and the growth you see in yourself is what I strive for with my clients.
